The UNC Food Day Film Festival concludes this evening with a screening of The Weight of the Nation, Part 4: Challenges. The last in a 4-part HBO series, this film examines the origins and severity of the obesity epidemic, examines its major driving forces and looks at opportunities for communities to fight back. The film will be followed by a panel discussion with Active Living By Design‘s Tim Schwantes, Healthy Nation Coalition’s Adele Hite, and UNC’s Sue Hobbs. Hannah Martin of UNC’s Nutrition Coalition will moderate. 7:00 at the UNC Gillings School of Global Public Health in the Blue Cross Blue Shield Auditorium (Hooker 0001). Chapel Hill’s newest Halloween tradition is this unique version of the “Carolina Skies” planetarium show. Explore the dark legends behind the constellations! Cost is $6 for students.

This Greek food and culture festival will feature gyros, chicken, and pork souvlaki, hot off the grill plus delicious Greek pastries and grocery items including fresh baked breads, Feta cheese, Greek olives, olive oil, and other imported items. There will also be tours of their Byzantine style church and an exhibition of traditional Greek folk dances. Free admission!
