Welcome to another installment of Healthy Heels Weekend, where we let you know about the opportunities for fun in Chapel Hill this weekend!
Social Justice Yoga
Thursday 12:30-1:45pm at Ram’s Head Gym
This weekly class embodies the idea that what we think, what we say, and what we do are all connected. Join in an all levels flow class focused on healthy alignment of breath, body, mind and spirit. Become intimate with your own breath, and body, participate more fully in the present, and respond with greater authenticity and integrity. Must have one-card access to Rams Head Gym. Open to all students, staff and faculty. More information can be found on the event page on Facebook.
Thursday 8pm at Nightlight
Come dance, and leave the frump at home. Round up your friend and have a good time learning to waltz! The doors open at 8, there is a free lesson starting at 8:30, and then the band strikes up at 9. The dancing will last late into the night. $5 cover. Check out the event, also on Facebook. But dress warmly! There are some forecasts for a flurry of snow tonight!
Thursday @ the Varsity Theater, 9:20pm
It’s always a good call to check out the Varsity, and Thursday night is no exception. Its on Franklin Street so you can walk there from campus! Also showing: “The Perks of Being a Wallflower” at 7:10 and 9:30. More information can be found here.
Abbey Road LIVE
Friday @ Cat’s Cradle 8pm doors, 9pm show
Go to the legendary Cat’s Cradle to see one of the premier Beatles Cover bands. With a focus on the music of the later “studio years”, Abbey Road LIVE specializes in re-creating a complete Beatles album from start to finish LIVE. I have heard rave reviews. Check it out from the Cat’s Cradle website, or read more about the band. $10 advance $12 at the door.
That concludes this edition of Healthy Heels Weekend. As always, take care of yourselves! And if you get the chance, if there is snow on the ground, pick a snowball fight with a stranger. You’ll thank me later.
