The PASS (Peak Academic Success and Satisfaction) Program is a Student Wellness initiative that enhances students’ skills and strategies required to successfully manage the challenges and stresses of college life. Last year, you all gave some wonderful feedback. And we listened.
This year, PASS has been re-named PASS 2.0 as we’ve made the event bigger and better! We’ll have some delicious Indian food from Vimala’s Curryblossom Cafe! There will also be some students from Aveda Institute Chapel Hill offering free massage services to attendees.
You’ll be able to participate in all of the following activities FOR FREE:
*”Escape to Summer” themed Photobooth Section
*Arts and Crafts
*Video Games
*Food and Snacks
*Yoga and Mindful Breathing
*Get your Exam Materials *500 Blue books!*
*Computer Cleaning
*Spaces to eat, chill, relax, and chat with your friends
You’ll also have the opportunity to help out the Mind, Body, Spirit Connection student group, as they’ll be selling some beautiful jewelry as their fundraiser.
And it doesn’t end there. During the event, if you use #UNCPASS on Instagram or Twitter, you get entered in a drawing for a chance to win an AWESOME prize. It could be a shirt, or a $1 off a Daily Grind Beverage, or a pair of sunglasses…
You may be thinking “Wow! So much awesomeness packed into 3 hours? But why?”
Here’s why: Research reveals that students consistently rate stress as the most significant factor negatively impacting their academic performance. PASS prioritizes teaching students strategies to balance and manage the stresses inherent in college life. Programs will address topics such as goal setting, time management, perfectionism, procrastination, exam anxiety, coping skills, study skills, healthy living, and self care. PASS also seeks to enhance other factors that contribute to peak performance, namely social support, motivation, positive attitudes, resilience and optimism.
So, take a breather during all of that studying, come visit us in the Union Great Hall, Saturday May 3rd from 6-9pm, and you’ll PASS (2.0) those finals!
The event is co-sponsored by Counseling and Psychological Services, UNC Campus Health Services, Campus Rec, Housing, LGBTQ Center, Office of the Dean of Students, Academic Advising, Harris Teeter, the Daily Grind, UNC Student Stores, and Aveda Institute Chapel Hill.
